Fried noodles

On a grey rainy day, standing next to an orange bucket catching drips from the leaking ceiling, with Prairie Home Companion on the radio, I make a typical lunch. Fried fresh egg noodles with choysum, strips of yellow tofu and resurrected shiitake mushrooms. Seasoned with oyster sauce, fish sauce and dark soy, this is a quick simple lunch with leftovers to take to work this week.

Dessert is pieces of Fuji apple and a couple of Barilla Passioni Italiane Espresso. These do have a good espresso flavour, but the filling does not gush out or even flow as you might expect from the photo. The filling is pretty solid and not particularly creamy (this is a good thing) with the outer shell being slightly powdery. They are also not too sweet, one of my pet peeves about most US desserts and sweets. This package was purchased from Monoprix in Paris during a recent December trip. I was intrigued by the Barilla brand, being more familiar with their dried pasta. I brought lots of chocolate back, so will be posting brief reviews as I get to them.
