Pim's Mousse Citron

Another biscuit - Pim's Mousse Citron. I'm not sure why this is called mousse as it just tastes the same as the the usual jam or jelly biscuits in this range. The French answer to Jaffa cakes, this is very similar with a soft spongy biscuit/cake bottom, glossy dark chocolate and a thin flavoured mousse/jam layer in between.

Jaffa Cakes and Tim Tams are my Holy Grail of biscuits, so I'm always on the lookout for them or substitutes (hmm...I see Jaffa Cakes are legally cakes not biscuits, but for me they serve a biscuit-like function so they are biscuits). Jaffa cakes are available at Costco World Market, but at exorbitant prices. However I have seen similar biscuits from Poland at Meijer so maybe I'll try some next time. I wonder who invented the jaffa cake concept, the French or British?
