Holiday Baking: Dark Chocolate and Mango Cookies

I had originally picked this recipe for it's use of golden raisins (sultanas to those of us from the Commonwealth), but realized that my stash of rather chewy dried hot mango might be a good substitute.

This was an extremely wet, sticky dough that was pretty messy to handle. Disappointingly the spiciness of the mango somehow disappeared when baked. These came out as stated, crackling on top, soft and moist within. Very chocolatey and rich. These will be taken to a New Year's Day open house as I'm not overly fond of soft cookies. The search for a crisp chocolate cookie recipe without butter continues...

Substitutions: dried hot mango instead of the golden raisins; oil instead of butter; omitted the added chocolate chips and walnuts
