Weekend Cooking: Assam Fish Curry

A recent find of frozen okra was just what was needed for this assam fish curry. Paste from Tean's . Very hot and redolent with spices, this made a perfect dinner for these dark, cold nights.

Living in the Midwest I don't have access to a large variety of wild salmon so this dinner of sugar snaps, steamed salmon and Rainer cherries was a very spring-y and delightful treat.

Weekend meals

Fish and chips with my first roast potato wedges. Delicious and healthy.
Soup noodles with brown rice noodles, enoki mushrooms, romaine lettuce and milkfish balls.
Canned hummus makes a good cupboard staple for those times when you need a quick lunch. Too bad this one was a bit dry and tasteless, despite adding pepper and some olive oil as suggested.

Weekday lunch

I usually spend a couple of hours every weekend putting together my weekday lunches. After packing lunch for school and work for ~20 years off and on, variety is important, as are hot meals. One recent meal: pan-fried tilapia w/tom yum and cilabtro bulgar.
