Grapefruit Yoghurt Cake

I finally decided to bring this grapefruit yoghurt cake from smitten kitchen to a holiday party. I love yoghurt cakes for their moistness and find the bitterness of grapefruit cuts a lot of the sweetness of many cakes. Unfortunately due to operator error the two loaves I ended up bringing were overbaked and so the tops was burnt. The extra batter baked in muffin cases at a lower heat turned out perfect: moist and the glaze was able to penetrate to add a pleasant sweetness.

Nestle Noir Pamplemousse

Eek! Almost a month without a post! Well I'm alive and still eating my way through my chocolate bars. This was a perfect contrast of grapefruit and dark chocolate. The generous amount of candied fruit had an undertone of bitterness that cut through the sweetness and went well with the smooth glossy chocolate. The luscious photo on the package actually lived up to its promise.
